The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) for the year 2021 will be persisted on 13th June 2021. The conducting authority for the CLAT exam is the Consortium of NLUs. CLAT is one of the foremost prestigious national level examinations for admission into UG and PG programs offered by the highest law colleges in India

The CLAT 2021 exam is going to be held in an offline mode. For CLAT 2021 exam, students can expect around 150 questions. There'll be 5 sections. The primary step towards an efficient preparation for clearing CLAT is to understand the test pattern and syllabus well. Students should focus on reinforcing understanding of every topic then practice questions. Students must follow a schedule and devote a hard and fast number of CLAT preparation hours.

Reading Comprehension :

Students will be given a passage that is supported by contemporary or historically significant fiction and non-fiction topics. The word limit of the passage would be around 450-500 words. Students should have the power to read the passage within 7-8 minutes. One has got to specialize in understanding the central idea of the passage. To attain well during this section, students comprehend the most points around which the author builds his argument.

Students should be proficient in drawing inferences and conclusions after reading the passage.
Questions are often asked to support the summary of the passage.
A deeper analysis of the passage will help the scholars match and contrast different points within the passage.

In this section, a passage of about 450 words is going to be given. The passage might be factual or supported legal matters or social issues. Students will be ready to score well during this section if they develop an awareness of legal and moral issues and that they should be able to think logically and assess the factual situation with a generalist approach.

Students must understand how to infer the principles and understand the principles on which the passage is predicated. Practice more and more CLAT mock tests to increase your confidence.
Students should have the power to use rules and principles in factually based paragraphs.

CLAT Syllabus for CLAT Quantitative Techniques


Students will need to solve short sets of facts or propositions, graphs, or other textual, pictorial, or diagrammatic representations of numerical information in this section. Questions will be supported the above information. Students will need to develop a skill in deriving information from graphs, and questions will be supported by mathematical operations.

The mathematical operations would require students to understand concepts of sophistication 10th standard like ratios and proportions, basic algebra, mensuration, and statistical estimation.

Current Affairs Including public knowledge 

The general knowledge section will check a student’s awareness of current affairs and understand important events concerning the news. Students will get to analyze the passage on the idea of legal information given within the passage. To attain this section well, students must read newspapers and magazines and remain updated with current affairs. The GK questions will check students’ knowledge on the subsequent topics:-

  • Important events, dates, and significance happening at the domestic also because of the global front.
  • Questions associated with Arts and culture.
  • Questions associated with world affairs.
  • Questions could be asked on some historical events that have an enduring significance.

  • In this section, a passage of about 300-350 words is going to be given. Questions are going to be supported the subsequent points.
  • Students should be ready to understand the premises and conclusions of the given argument. You can join online CLAT classes for better results.
  • The students should have the skill to research and identify the hidden arguments within the passage.
  • High-order thinking is required to critically analyze the paragraph.
