Tips to Prepare for the Current Affairs Section of CLAT 2021

Following certain techniques and a well-planned strategy to go about your preparation for the Current Affairs section of CLAT can prove beneficial for students. Here are some preparation tips that you can incorporate into your approach.

  • Focus on Making a Great Plan First

Now, what is a great plan? The one that is well-thought and based on what YOU require. For instance, if you know that you will revise the current affairs more than once, devote more time to it. Pick out the most important topics for the CLAT 2021 Current Affairs Section and pay more attention to them.

  • Please Don't Leave it for the Last.

Current Affairs is an everyday job that cannot be missed even for a day. For CLAT 2021, read the newspaper every day and make sure that you know the current affairs from 2020 to April 2021. Focus more on issues rather than news and make a note of the most popular events in the past year or what’s happening around you.

If you keep this section last, you are most likely to confuse rather than remember the events or news. Practice more and more and give CLAT Mock tests.

  • Limit Your Sources

Do not burden yourself with several sources of current affairs. Candidates often commit the mistake of wasting time on multiple newspapers. Commit to one and make judicious use of the internet. Refer to one of the best books for the CLAT 2021 Current Affairs section.

  • Emphasize on the Syllabus

While trying to cover this section extensively, do not forget to focus on the UG-CLAT 2021 syllabus topics. After all, more passages should be expected from these topics.

  • Prepare your own Notes.

Currents Affairs are all about one-liners or a maximum of 3-4 lines. Make your notes such that it is the easiest for you to understand and remember facts. Highlight all the important notes with an ink of a different color. Making notes yourself plays a key role because writing has been proven to be one of the best ways to remember anything. Also, remember that memorizing everything is not humanly possible.

Attempting current affairs and GK mock questions is the best way to ace this section. This will help you get an idea of the type of questions that will be asked and assist in testing your preparation level or evaluating your progress. This should, however, be attempted only after being prepared to a certain extent.

  • Make Good Use of the Internet

The internet will give a chunk of data for everything, but how will you decide which link to click on? The most relevant thing that you will find will be several General Knowledge pdfs that would certainly help you prepare for this section. Always check the credibility of the piece before getting down to studying it.

  • Read and Revise

Current Affairs keep piling up by the day, which makes everyday revision and reading mandatory. The notes will help in revision and retain current events or news of the past year.
