Is it worth dropping a year to prepare for the CLAT?

 

When it involves taking a year gap after 12th there are many students who drop a year for clat and land in good National Law Universities and lots of take this decision and regret it later. When it involves my very own personal experience I also took a 1 year drop and cleared CLAT and there have been many of my friends who cleared it along side me.
 
While you're in your 12th you've got many things to try to to directly like managing the varsity classes along side the varsity subjects coaching classes and if you have enrolled yourself in any clat coaching then it becomes a tedious task to manage all the three together. i'm not saying that it’s impossible otherwise you won’t be ready to manage these but it becomes difficult to manage once you have many tasks in hand.
 
There will be times once you need to exclusively specialise in the 12th boards preparation and need to take an extended break from CLAT which isn't good as you'll lose the momentum for CLAT. And once you resume the CLAT preparation after your boards are over, you either have forgotten the concepts otherwise you don’t wish to steel oneself against it for a few time as you've got just ended giving the board exams and had studied extensively for that (The other reason applies to me it's going to not be true for everybody else).

So dropping a year becomes advantageous for you as you don’t need to specialise in other things like your school subjects coachings you only need to specialise in the CLAT preparation. aside from this there are things like expecting your board exam results which are most likely call at the month of may so you're equipped with thoughts like whether I even have scored less marks or more during a particular subject otherwise you will pass within the particular subject or not. Things like these are the distractions which aren't good for your clat preparation! And dropping a year also doesn’t mean that you simply will surely crack the clat as likelihood is that you'll fall ill on the exam day, or there could also be technical issues with the exams(This happened with me on the Exam day) or many other factors.
 
Remember these are just the chances that ‘may’ happen and that i am not saying this stuff will surely happen. And likelihood is that that you simply might not get your required school of law you'll land in any private university(private universities aren’t bad as for eg Jindal Global school of law is taken into account together of the highest most school of law s of India but it charges a really huge academic fees which most are unable of giving and there are these KIIT school of law and Symbiosis school of law which again charge big sum of cash but less as compared to Jindal Global law school.

But once you are getting to get a seat in NLUs these colleges just come last in your priority list. Your mindset also plays a serious role when it involves dropping a year for clat for eg if you've got the type of thinking that " i will be able to not be able to crack it or i will be able to be wasting a year’ then i like to recommend you to not take a drop as you'll only lose a year! ‘I am gonna crack clat this year and can not make an equivalent mistakes as I made previously’ is that the thinking which can lead you forward and obtain your required college. then there are students who make a schedule and commit to stay thereto from the very first day of the preparation but 99% students find yourself not following such things. If you recognize you'll do such quite things then choose it.
 
Personally what I did was to consider my CLAT online coaching classes then after getting back home tried to end the tasks given on the very day itself and revise the entire thing before getting to bed and within the spare time I watched movies or did some interesting things like playing sports etc but a day I had this thing in mind that I even have to finish my coaching work on an equivalent day itself.
 

The ‘Crash course’ thing is additionally popular among law students most of them think that it’s ok if they don’t join clat coachings in 11th class or 12th class and directly join a crash program and obtain a seat in their desired college. Well when it involves this I even have seen cracking students by doing crash program but there numbers are very less. the rationale being crash program s will cause you to study a touch extra for any subject for instance if you're putting 2 hours each day for a traditional coaching you've got to place 4 hours for a crash course because it usually consists of 30-40 days of whatever time is left after your boards till clat exam. One query which most of the scholars have in their mind is should they take admission during any xyz college then steel oneself against CLAT along side the college? the solution to the present question again depends upon your capability to ‘manage’ things as you've got to think about the items just like the college will getting to have their semester exams and you've got to take care of certain attendance which is mandatory for colleges meaning you've got to attend regular classes or could also be 3-4 times in a week together with your CLAT online coaching so it depends on you ways you balance both.

Also it’s really a troublesome decision for a double drop so think before you are doing such thing. Remember taking risk may be a different thing and taking calculated risk is another.
 
It’s really a traditional thing to require a year drop so don’t over think or stress over the thing that you simply are the sole one taking it. there's that mindset where students think that NLUs provide for lucrative packages and that they just get driven away by such thoughts it’s the reality but it applies only to top NLUs not every NLUs.
